Our Mission

The Press takes its inspiration from the little chapel of Saint Mary of the Angels, which is located in the broad plane just below the city of Assisi. This was the last of the three churches that Saint Francis of Assisi lovingly rebuilt with his own hands after hearing the call from Our Blessed Lord: “Francis, go and rebuild My house, which as you can see is all in ruins!” This chapel, also known as the Portiuncula (or "Little Portion"), was particularly dear to the saint, for it was revealed to him that, of all the churches in the world built in honor of the Virgin Mary, this one was her own favorite! Saint Francis took up his abode there, “pouring forth continual prayers to her who had conceived the Word, full of grace and truth, that she would vouchsafe to be his advocate; and by the merits of that Mother of Mercy, he conceived and brought forth the spirit of Gospel truth” (from the Major Life of Saint Francis, by Saint Bonaventure).

Following the saint’s example, we have placed our apostolate beneath the mantle of the Holy Virgin, begging her to be our Advocate and to animate our prayers and works with “the spirit of Gospel truth.”

Our goal is to flood the world with the “pure spiritual milk” (1 Pet 2:2) of sound Catholic doctrine and spirituality. Our hope, in the words of that faithful follower of Saint Francis, Saint Maximilian Mary Kolbe, is: “to introduce the Immaculata into the hearts of men, so that she may erect the throne of her Son therein, lead them to the knowledge of Him, and inflame them with love for His Most Sacred Heart.”

Our catalogue will include both scholarly works and popular ones, new titles, new translations of some of the best Catholic literature written in other languages, as well as reprints of lost gems and of spiritual classics which every Catholic should know. It will also feature fine recordings of Catholic music, with a special focus on the lost treasures of Gregorian Chant and Sacred Polyphony. Lastly, we have posted a series of pamphlets in PDF format which can be downloaded and printed for free distribution.

We hope you enjoy our selection, and more importantly, we pray that it helps you to advance on the path to true holiness, for as the Apostle says: “This is the Will of God: your sanctification!” (1 Thess 4:3)
